The BWG includes diverse scientific investigators assessing new biomarkers as well as a central group (the Core for Assay Validation, or CAV) assisting with biomarker assay validation. Overall, the goal of the CAV is to increase collaboration in the field, provide an opportunity to optimize/miniaturize assays, validate data generated from these assays, and facilitate multi-assay interrogation of common samples in a systematic and efficient manner. CAV services are available to BWG members and the biomarker research community at large.

The CAV was housed at the Benaroya Research Institute in Seattle, WA. Visit the BRI website for more information about the institute and its mission.
